Support and chat about Akai's range of MIDI controllers, including the MPD. MPK and LPD

I'm pretty new to this, so apologies if my problems seem really novice. I've been using an Akai MPX-8 sampler for a while (I know, not a great pad, but good for what I'm looking for) and I'm looking to record it's samples onto Pro Logic 9 (which I'm relatively new to). I can record the sounds onto a track and it plays back just as I had intended, but when I export it to a file, it plays back in what appears to be instrumentals from Pro Logic, so my track sounds very stock, instead of how it sounds on the sampler.

If anyone could help me solve this that would be a huge help, thanks so much.

Are you recording the audio output from the MPX into Logic audio tracks?

Or are you recording MIDI from the MPX into Logic MIDI/Instrument tracks?

For Logic to be able to export the recording from the MPX, it needs to have the audio recorded in, not just the MIDI.
