Just checked out the manual, and wow, it looks awesome.

From what I gathered from it, it means that NDC is now integrated into program mode, so that each sample can be set to follow its own start/end points?

That's amazing.

I'm still sticking with the small screen though. Something about the big screen just inherently bothers me.

Do we HAVE TO get the 128Xl for invert Nym??
Comparison chart says no to normal XL, and I am guessing that is how it is staying so we are forced to upgrade then?? For these features, even if we do not want the large svreen?? yes? no?

possibly.
invert is probably relatively easy to implement for os2xl, but from what i can tell jj is not actively developing that OS. much like os2 was never updated with features in os2xl, even though people wanted it.

it's not ideal for users of os2xl, but a license to an OS is a purchase, not a subscription. maybe a development subscription is a preferable model - who knows.

Well, that's not strictly true, as it is very much down to the sales model being used by the developer.

The JJOSes aren't exactly shrinkwrap software, where all bugs have been ironed out and major features put in place by the time of release and the developer has no pressure to release updates until the next major release (ie. Photoshop). OS2XL has been getting features and updates throughout its life and it's a pity (though understandable) that now to get useful features users must also purchase an additional bit of hardware on top of the price of a new OS.

Basically, I'm sad the new NDC features won't be in OS2XL but honestly it's pretty good in 2XL already.

Still, JJ (and the guy who owns MPCstuff) has to make a living, I suppose.

So that must be what's wrong with these new Akai products! They must be forgetting to put them in shrinkwrap before they leave the factory! Wait -- do they come shrinkwrapped? I gotta watch that unboxing video again. If we can get to the bottom of this we'll probably just find out they left the wrapping machine unplugged and all of Akai's problems will be solved!

Well some of the bug fixes are priceless.
I mean case in point this update with that grid edit note selection. That drove me up the wall sometimes, as it always added an extra step of having to reselect the note to edit. cool.

And the newer one still hey. Is loop behaviour changed to, cos it seems on a lot more than often?

But still, its always good to know what is happening if anything is happening. Hey Nym. hint hint .

How is it better?
