For me, changing time signature in os2xl has always been buggy. Hope JJ will do something one day.

PC1000 JJOS1 4.99

BUG 1: WHEN EDITING DRUM NOTES IN GRID EDIT, (MODE+PAD15), RECORDED NOTES ARE INVISIBLE UNTIL I HIT THE SPECIFIC PAD..

FOR EXAMPLE, I HAVE LAID DOWN 2 DIFFERENT HI HATS ON 16TH NOTES - I SCROLL ACROSS AND HEAR WHAT IVE PLAYED, BUT ONLY SEE 1 SET OF NOTES (PAD 1 FOR EXAMPLE). I HAVE TO ACTUALLY HIT PAD 5 TO SEE THE RECORDED NOTES IN ORDER TO DELETE THEM...

BUG 2: NOT REALLY A BUG, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF, WHEN HOLDING "MAIN" AND SHUTTING OFF THE MPC, IT WROTE MY QUANTIZE SETTINGS TO THE FLASH.

EG: I HAVE A DEFAULT T.C. OF 1/16 WITH 59% SWING AND I HAVE SLIDER 1 AND 2 ASSIGNED TO SWING AND TIME SHIFT. I WANT TO BOOT UP MY MPC AND HAVE THESE SETTINGS ALREADY ASSIGNED SO THAT I DONT HAVE TO GO IN AND CHANGE THEM EVERY TIME I START A NEW BEAT. ITS LAZINESS, BUT IT MAKES SENSE!

WORD! :D

in jjos1

mpc freezes after using sequence edit. I used sequence edit to copy 4bars of a sequence and paste it to make it longer. It works but when i play the sequence that is edited, it freezes on the very last bar.

using mpc1000 on jjos.
i have recorded several tracks in a seq, and when i for example have 6 tracks on, 1 suddenly goes mute by itself, i mean it stops. when i then mute one track, i will start playing again...

any idea what this can be? it only happens in this particular seq, not in any others...

NOTES VANISH in Pattern View, 2XL (and OS2)

The notes disappear with NO WAY to undo. Here's how to duplicate:

-Sequence a drum pattern with notes that are far off the normal grid, such as 1/16 triplets.
-Enter drum grid
-Hold shift and press F3 to enter Pattern View (or just press window in OS2)
-Sequenced notes that were far off the grid-GONE FOREVER.

jj os xl 1.16 on mpc 2500

I have an sequnce, i create a new track (drum or midi - it doesnt mind...) and new inst program
I set the midi track to use my inst program, record notes etc.... BUT when i press Mode + PAD4 to go to the track mixer, select FX1 and go to effect by pressing mode + PAD12 and select reverb as an FX1, it starts to "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhshshshshsh" and playback is stopped.... other effects seems to be ok...

os2XL 1.16 mpc1K

in trim mode while looping press window on END
that leads to the zero cross point window
If the second range of pad (5,6,7,8) is pressed the sound is not ONE SHOT but NOTE ON.

Normal screen, when i try to change the tempo, the sequences start to change. Can't dial the scroll wheel to change the tempo, it only changes the sequences. Really weird.

OS-XL 1.16

Audio Track timing is inaccurate

  1. Power on
  2. Set Track 1 to "Audio"
  3. REC + PLAY START to record external tone to Track 1
  4. MODE TRIM to see start of sound, should be 0 but isn't
  5. Zoom in fully, move start to beginning of wave
  6. Set Track 2 to "Audio"
  7. Set Record Monitor OFF
  8. Plug Stereo Outputs into Recording Inputs with 1/4" cables
  9. REC + PLAY START to record Audio Track 1 to Audio Track 2
  10. MODE TRIM to see start of sound, should be 0 but isn't

BUG: Track 2 audio does not start at 0

Track 2 is around 163 samples delayed from Track 1.

All OS' so far - Step Edit Bug / Limitation

1 Press MODE + STEP EDIT

2 In STEP EDIT screen (while sequence is not playing) you can move around with the arrows and press EDIT, DELETE, INSERT, PLAY to make changes, you can use the data wheel to edit values such as velocity and you can also change the events you want to see up at the top.

3 Press PLAY and the cursor automatically goes to the top-left (where you see where the sequence is currently at) and pressing the arrows does nothing, pressing EDIT, DELETE, INSERT, PLAY and using the data wheel also does nothing.

4 Press STOP and you are now able to move around and edit again.

Why can't we move around and edit freely while sequence plays; I have this feature in my 6 year old Yamaha Motif ES. This shouldn't even be a feature, it should be a basic function of an MPC which is suppose to improve workflow and help creativity.

Ok this is a pretty serious **** as far as i'm concerned:

In OS2 v1.23 with MPC1000 the output assignments are messed up.
Tracks assigned to the stereo outputs will play over outputs 3 & 4, tracks assigned to outputs 3 & 4 will play over outputs 1 & 2 and tracks assigned to outputs 1 & 2 will not be heard at all.
It scared the crap out of me as I thought my MPC was **** so I went back to OS2 v1.22 and everything was as it's supposed to be again. As I have some gigs coming up i won't be trying OS2 v1.23 again any time soon.
Can anyone confirm this bug?

playing notes on external MIDI keyboard plugged into MPC 1k's MIDI in cuts the sounds played by MPC's internal sampler, including both Drum and Audio tracks.

It doesn't happen with AKAI OS.

Update: It doesn't happen with other keyboards, later I analysed incoming MIDI data and found out that this synth sends "All Notes Off (controller 123) message everytime I release a note. This is a vintage Roland JX-8p, 1985 made and it has some strange MIDI implementation.

MPC just does what the message says: stops all sounding notes, therefore this issue shouldn't be considered an MPC OS bug,
but I'd be glad if "All Notes Off" controller could be filtered in MPC settings.

It's not as streamlined as the way you described, but you can do this in JJOS2 using Loop Edit.

...I would prefer your way. It would be sweet if it had the old OS1 6 pad view too.
