-Track Mute External MIDI Control,

available while using any screen of the mpc (using i.e., next seq or active track, while muting tracks from the midi controller)

that would be dope to me 8)

-Next Seq button : operation like a "shift" button (press and hold next seq button, press a pad for the next seq, release next seq button to get back to former used mpc screen, instead of a) press next seq b) press pad c) press next seq or other mpc function.)

I dont know if its been requested before but i woul like to request a feature that has been on the 5k os 2 and that would be the ability to hit the shift button in trim mode and hit a pad and that would assign that specific sample to that pad.
It was just very helpful on the 5k

You can't do that but you can do the contrary

In trim mode press the PgmMode F1 key

Press a blank pad (or another one)

Assign the sample to that pad

Repress the PgmMode Fkey to go back to normal trim mode

It's a link to the program mode so you can preview the settings you did (TUNE..etc) but it's a one pad stuff so it's more limited than TRIM MODE.

Otherwise I think you have a shortcut to assign a sample to a pad you've just recorded in RECORD mode

or in LOAD MODE if you press window you have the "sample assign to pad window" option.

Hope that helps.

==All I want is==

1. in the sample edit section: invert sample
2. in the sample edit section: create new stereo sample from two samples
3. in the "Program" and "Instrument" section: each layer has its own pan.
4. in the sample edit section: "convert stereo sample" to "MS composite LCR stereo sample" (Left Mono, Right to left side positive, Right to Right side inverted)
5. "single" or "dual" pans on track mixer
6. in song mode: the Mix down has a "window" that lets you "select what tracks to activate or mute" (post mute automation).

ALL you engineers know why I say such things

my engineer friend "Chris Henry" once said: "do ALL the work on the outside before you hit tape!"

Thought I'd add this as there has been some recent interest.

Addition of a "loop until release" function in the Trim screen.

This way, you can have a sample that loops as long as you hold a pad, and will then play out to the end of the sample after you release it, (as long as you have a long release time set for your AMP envelope). For this to be possible it would also be necessary to have a separate 'loop end' marker added.

Reading all the comments about LOOP in the os2XL 2.10 bug fix topic that made me think it would be cool if there was a way to overcome that annoying 9999 DURATION limit.

Sustain Loop, Release Loop and Sustain+Release Loop options in TRIM.

add user-definable duration per pad
so that when a pad is hit, it is recorded with X ticks in the sequencer.

this is way better than adding HOLD to our envelope.

It looks like a jjos is starting to creak under the weight of possibilities. I'm still using 5.55 because some of its features are quite useful & upgrading will sacrifice them for others I know I won't use. I like having the 4 layers & don't want extra audio tracks for example.

Maybe there should be two or three different JJos packs for the differing styles of use.

I use a lot of outboard gear and a desk - My main requests would certainly be having FX Send routing to say outputs 7&8 because the internal FX aren't upto much. This means I can still be flexible with the fx instead of having to resample/print their results. Also Track Volume on the Main Page instead of Velocity% because if there is no velocity parameter assigned to the pad sample then Vel% is Zero use. Don't quite know if XL does this sort of thing successfully of not.

I use velocity to trigger layers instead of volumes to give an authentic analogue drum machine effect. Each layer is another sample from the same drum, but because its analogue each one is microscopically different. That makes it sound like it is the machine instead of a Stepford Wife representation of the machine. Hence 5.55 & the 4 Layers & Vol instead of Vel%.

Yeah. This has been asked for by myself and others, but I'm easy nowadays.

I use a lot of outboard too and a 24 channel desk. I use the 4 aux sends (and other sources) on my desk and bring the effects returns into their own channels. Routing the fxsends to the analogue outs would be very useful. I never seem to have enough available sends on my desk.

The Track Mixer (MODE+PAD4) in JJOSXL makes changing the volume of any track an absolute breeze. It's a wonderful thing.

I sample a bar or two of hits (BD for example) then use Non Destructive Chop and hit a different chop as the tune goes along. Same thought as you, in that an analogue drum machine contains nuances with each hit, so I use different hits. NDC is quick and easy to use and placing each hit in a program is even simpler. Some form of 'round robin' functionality with NDC would be nice. Saying that, I do like to record my clocked analogue drum machines live as the track goes along also.

A track move facility in the 'pad mute' screen would be handy. I always find myself having to jump back and forth between the 'pad mute' screen and the 'track move' screen to get my tracks re-ordered... of course I always sucked at the memory game...

"AUTOPLAY" FEATURE REQUEST
-------------------------------------

One interesting feature in [MODE] [PAD12 LOAD] : "Autoplay"

F4 is unused : F4 could enable / disable the "Autoplay" feature.
With AUTOPLAY on, when you turn the DATA wheel, the WAV are automatically played one after another (no need to press a pad or [PLAY] in order to hear each WAV).

Very useful in order to choose the samples in a big soundbank! No need to press a pad each time you turn the wheel !
