JJ OS Feature Requests (ARCHIVE)

looking back over all this timing stuff, I have two related suggestions for arpeggiator tracks:

- record which pads are pressed down, not the resulting arp, so you can change the arp settings during playback later

- allow free timing as well as quantized timing

filters respond to cc messages in JJOSXL

when in trim mode, then after you push chop, make the <step & step> keys go to the next and previous regions.

thanks for your answer, but sorry, you misunderstand it.
theres a lot of merged midi messages goes to a couple of machines, and in the mpc i don't want to use midi notes, only the cc.

Mute groups for pattern to pad move to much over-lapping

won't work in real-time, but you can press erase and set it to notes only, or change view in step edit and just erase some of them.

I think the cycle function seem to be less interesting when you have 3 layers instead of 4.

I think if we had both layer play back mode "cycle, random, velocity" like the mpc5000 plus "chop play back mode", 1 layer would be ok sacrifice. in essence if you did this (see below) you'd get 3 layers to cylcle through, and each layer could have potentially 32 chops to cycle through. thats alot of friggin randomness to really really get some expressive layering going.............not to mention combining it with simult.

Then also add "chop play back mode". in the chop column you could select chop number, random, cycle. if you opened window when value was highlighted you get new dialog box where you could choose play back type and the chops to cycle through.

most definately +1

it would be dope huh? i hate having to push the arrow keys up then over 3 times to switch to a different chop.

this and what i said earlier: a time cursor like non-destructive chopping has, but in "chop mode"

i think these two would make chopping a breeze!

TRACK MOVE (Switch Tracks) in Track Mute Screen:

I think a new feature to be able to switch tracks inside the Track Mute screen would be great. Instead of going to SeqEdit (Mode+Pad13) then Track Move this would make switching tracks a lot quicker and easier. My proposal for this feature would be: Hit Track Mute, then in between the F4 (active track) button and the F6 (Solo) button could be a button for F5 that says SWITCH. Tap this button and it activates/hi-lights the switch. Then you tap the pads of the 2 tracks you want to switch/move/swap then touch the F5 (SWITCH) button again and it unhi-lights and does the switch for you or it asks you "Are you sure you want switch for example Track 1 and Track 5?" and you hit F5 again for yes. I think this would speed up workflow for anyone who like to rearrange their tracks after laying a beat down. Anybody else think this would be useful or how i can send this request to JJ other than through a comment on the JJ Youtube page? Running JJOS 2XL ver3 BTW.

ok i get ya, it does record midi cc without notes. just make track midi first of course. or just delete note only

last post of mine reminded me........ I request that the delete window to show the control data being edited when in the control window of the sequencer window. Do you get me? I know when i open delete window in track mute view the delete window is set to delete track mutes. I want this behaviour to be the same when I open the delete window from in the control data edit screen.

here is me editing MIDI CC data. then i hit delete and the delete window shows delete note ect......I request it show current data being edited in this case i want the delete window to open and have the delete window field to be set to the same as the data being edited so instead of above we get this


would be very helpful as i edit many MIDI CCs and it would save time and is annoying to have to change two fields every time i change what I am editing.

1K feature request : bring back SHIFT + <DIGIT or DIGIT> shortcut where SHIFT or TAP TEMPO + DATA WHEEL is too slow and not handy.
