it's a good idea, but i think the vertical space is 7 or 8 pixels. a waveform is not very well displayed in 7 or 8 pixels.

an interesting one, but I'm not sure when I would use it.

This would mean that the OS needs to load the whole waveform to generate the image. When you press LOAD on a big sample you know how long that takes to load to ram.

Neat idea but impractical imo.
