I was messing with my MPC1k running OS2XL 3.18 last night and just thought about something. Since JJ stated a while back that it's not possible to use NOTE REPEAT with a midi keyboard in OS2XL, I think a nice workaround solution would be to add a chord function or polyphonic mode as an additional pattern type to the arpeggiator and allow the arpeggiator to be synchronized to the time correction grid or to the MPC's clock. Maybe give the user the option to quantize the arpeggiator.
The arpeggiator chord/poly pattern type would allow you to trigger as many simultaneous notes through a midi keyboard as you want and they would all repeat simultaneously (not one after the other) as you hold the keys down, just like note repeat function does for the pads. Oh, and maybe allow the user to bring up the time correction selections for function keys F1-F5 to change the quantization of the arpeggiator on the fly just like you would with note repeat by simply Pressing SHIFT + NUMERIC to engage and lock then press NUMERIC again to unlock. There is a chord arpeggiator mode on AKAI's MPK line of midi controllers that works in this minor. It's just like note repeat but with keys instead of pads.
I think this would be a great workaround since it's not possible to use the NOTE REPEAT with midi keyboard and we all know the arpeggiator works well with midi notes. This feature would definitely overcome that limitation.
