BUG:

Assign midi note or CC to REC and PLAY buttons.

Now when you try recording an audio track by using an external midi controller, REC and PLAY does not function like the REC and PLAY buttons on the mpc.

1) e.g. press rec on the external midi controller, then when you press play the mpc should start recording right away, just like it does by using the mpc buttons, but it doesn't, there is a slight delay.

2) During the recording the info pop-up does not go away so you can't see the wave form being recorded.

3) After recording stops the mpc does not go back to normal state, instead stays in rec mode.

I've also tried the REC+START option; similar issue.

2XL 3.20

I might downgrade back to 3.19 to see if it has same issues.

sounds like you are sending record and stop. cos that is the behaviour in that instance you describe. do you get the count down?? if not then its stop you have instead of start and record by the looks of it. because REC/STOP gives you info screen, and REC/PLAY records take.
I think that because it is recording wave data it needs a second to write file from RAM, because even in normal mode it will not stop recording until it has a stop point. So I believe you will find that it is that it needs to write file after sample is made. So it goes into ram as you record but its not a wav till it gets a end to the sample. As sample can not go for ever it needs end point before being written. And does not know end point till you say stop. follow me?
And as you get record state staying on after stop means its like you have stop start wrong way round maybe. I only use multi timbral mode some times so its harder for me to test it out. But i do know for sure that you can have to exit the recording of samples with a stop. I am surprised you are using a MIDI note and not just use MMC commands that are already in there. Or is there a lag in it? cos it recommends not to use it but try it with audio and the count in might be enough to get it tight. no sync that way but just locations...depends, might be ok way for you but then just check that your notes trigger are right way round.
