now you can only set the Master Level in the "Other" screen. Would be good if each output could be adjusted separately.

I adjust the outputs of my main mix AND outputs 1 2 3 4 with the mixer.
The master output dB attenuation is for impedance matching voltages to other gear really, so just make sure it is not clipping and then leave it set that way. Use that as a relative level for other outputs as well when you do a multi track out for a reference volume.

If I set the master output level to 0db or even -12db I then have to set the track output to under 15, otherwise it's too much for the Digtech Stereo Jamman looper.

I'm think of making two audio cables with built in resistors to get the sound level maybe 20-30db lower, not sure what value resistor to use tho.

That idea of resistor is called padding. It is not a case of just adding resistor.
It also deoends on balanced or unbalanced as well. So look at something called padding. Usually you need two resistors and a cap, this is soldered in a certain way. Do not under any circumstances just add resistors, other wise you will damage something.
You are right though this can help. OR just set the input gain of the looper if you can. IF not then yeah padded line or drop the dB in master.

cos it is about the maths sorry, no other way to do it. So say 3dB less should be half the voltage. least there is something there that should see you right.

afaik the outs on the mpc are unbalanced

I was also thinking of using a headphone volume adjuster, I think it is simply a variable resistor.

Depending on what input you are using of course, but this is the one to calculate to. It is usually calculated at 1 kHz. This is because the impedance changes over frequency, so do calculation at 1 kHz for this kinda thing.
Aux outs of MPC 1-4 is quoted here
1/4-inch phone x 4 unbalanced +11dBu, output impedance 1k Ohms,

That is what you need to calculate it. Which you do yourself of course, as you do not expect me to do it for you do you :?
