I dunno if this is a bug or just something not in the OS; in any event, it should be fixed or added.

jjos2xl

Apparently the MPC cannot send MIDI sync (midi clock is what I'm trying to use, but I'd presume it doesn't work with mtc either) in song mode.
In my workflow, I build a song out of sequences in song mode, and I cannot convert to a sequence, because I do not keep track mutes/programs/volumes/etc consistent for respective tracks in different sequences.
So when I'm recording, I play it back in song mode. Which has always worked, except for now when I want to sync my minibrute.

So yep, that'd be cool if MIDI sync could be enabled for song mode.

a note, it does work for MTC.

and I cannot convert to a sequence, because I do not keep track mutes/programs/volumes/etc consistent for respective tracks in different sequences.

synth does not need MTC just midi clock. that amd your not able to manage your tracks comes down to user error.
I use song mode everyday with synths and it works fine. clock and all

So it appears that it is just user error.
(yes, my track coordination is flawed, but that's unrelated)

The problem is that the synth only latches onto MIDI clock after it receives the Start message, and jjos only sends that when play from start is pressed. I had been trying to do it from mid-way into the song, and so the minibrute didn't start syncing.
so yep. nothing wrong.
