This is such a shame, OS3 seems better or at least on par with most things in os2xl except that damn MIDI grid.
Qlinks for note duration and velocity are also a big miss.
Crazy that JJ though OS3 could do without it, so frustrating :?

There’s a comment asking about them on this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jarJtmbCka0 and this is the reply from the JJ SOFT:

“Since OS3 basic part is different from the OS2XL, is difficult to add your needs.
If it is added, a problem will arise in the newly added function.
Please use OS2XL, although I feel sorry.”

I Asked JJ (begged lol) this under the comment you mentioned:
"Please JJ, consider trying to find a way to add note edit and Qlink note duration / velocity in the MIDI grid just like OS2XL.
This is so important, even if you need to remove some less important feature to gain space. It's the only crucial thing missing in OS3."

To what he responded:
"Your request was told to the programmer."

We'll see how things go

Just watched this vid…

…not sure if I’ve had too many beers tonight but it looks to me like it is possible to shift a note’s position and edit the velocity in OS3 (but not the duration). I didn’t realise this was the case, would be nice to have all OS2XL features but tweaking the position of a note is the one I really wanted so might be time to give OS3 a bez.

Yea grid screen can already do a lot, but note duration is mandatory for synths and some type of samples. So it's nice but note quite there yet, that's why it's so frustrating. OSXL has a nice MIDI screen with simple but powerful options. Would be very nice if he could find a way to bring it back to OS3.

EDIT: Maybe a feature where you could set the note duration with a tick or bar sub division lengh option for each note in the drum grid screen, could do the trick idk. If they really can't bring OSXL's MIDI grid edit to OS3.

Yeah fair point on the midi editing, mate! I just hadn’t realised it could do any editing at all. I am planning on reconfiguring my set up to having my 1k as the master, sequencing my synths instead of an ancient MacBook, so I think the duration feature is actually going to be pretty crucial (now I have a clear head  )

JJOSXL (or 2XL for the 1000) has it. To deal with MIDI external instruments and editing it is the better choice imo.
So many "hidden" options using SHIFT or WINDOW in a lot of screens. It takes forever to learn them but once the muscle memory is locked in, everything becomes simple.

Cheers for that link, mate. It looks really handy! I recently printed out the full 2XL manual as it feels like there’s so much functionality that I’m not utilising yet.
