24 Bit Audio

Would love the ability to open 24bit audio files - even if it then converts to 16bit when loading. I have a large library and have to maintain different versions for different devices. This would allow me to have one library to sync with multiple devices.

Not gonna happen. Use a batch processor to convert, I use soundforge to batch convert bit and sample rate and mono if I don’t want stereo, takes seconds.
Also a batch file renamer helps with the 16 character limit on names, importing libraries with longer names will cut off the last bits and samples with the same names will give only one sample. If you open the cut off name file in a computer you will get the full name beyond the 16 characters.

On Mac... Rogue Amoeba's Fission is a solid batch converter... though you can find some free stuff out there, and audacity is worth checking out for free.
