can someone help me out sequencing

i have an external keyboard and i want sequence with my mpc 60. settings wise on the 60 how do i set it. i know i change the track to midi and channel 1 but i cant get the setting to work out

It relies mostly on your keyboard.

Local Control is important. Keyboard sequencer is important if it has one.

well i have a casio fz-1 and to my knowledge the only way it sequences is with a optional software disk that i dont have

Yuo specify a MIDI channel and an output on the MPC(a,b,c or d). MAke sure you have a cable connected from the correct MIDI out on your MPC to the MIDI in on your Casio.
Then make sure the casio is set to recieve the same channel that the MPC is sending. You mentioned channel one , so that would be it.
