Mixer 2 Mpc Setup..

yo, was curious, how yall set up your mixer with your mpc's..

right now i got my computer, 2 mpc's, and a turntable going to my mixer, the main outs from the mixer go to monitors..

now, whats the best way to sample from something on that mixer to the mpc ? the aux outs are so fiddley especially for stereo, and on the 60, when u monitor it will make a HUM because of the loop to the mixer...

so should i unplug the monitors, from the main outs and put that to my mpc everytime i sample or what

MPC3000 out's 1-10 to respective channel inputs on my mixing console.

Assignable BUS outputs of my console into the inputs/tracking devices ( comp/limiter) prior to hitting my DAW AD's ...

Control room outputs of my mixing console to my crossover/amplifier/monitors.

Main outputs of my mixing console disconnected unless I want to track the stereo out to tape or dat.

As the situation demands I connect from channel direct out's directly to the tracking input chain of my DAW AD's.

No hard and fast rules but this works for me most of the time without too much re-patching.

I use an aux to my samplers, you shouldn't get a hum from the 60 uless you have the aux send to the input going to the sample input. if you have yout TT aux up and the line to the 60, you should be fine, unless you have a behringer mixer

using a mackie CR-1604VLZ

the aux sends are crap cuz its so hard to control the volume, of the left and right channel because you control it with the knob instead of the slider, and there is no way to mute it ?

there are 8 direct outs, but i dont know how to use them.. lol

THe send knob is the volume to the aux out. when you are done, turn it off by turning it counter clockwise.

but when i send from my aux, im sending twice from my mixer, the left and the right, and neither eq effects them..
its just going through like its being monitord

there should be a swich or different aux's will either be Pre Fader or post fader, you want post fader.

on my mpc 3k, i was samplin sum ish, and on my 60 iwould record till the !P would just hit, that was the level i would sample at..

on the mpc 3k, when i do it like that, it seems really loud or something, maybe it has to do with how im recording, but when i use two samples at the same time itll really clip..

what kinda levels do u guys usually record at ? much below the top !P point ?

just before that happens mostly. unless I want it to distort. Digital clipping isn't the nicest thing.

did you check that the switch on the back is set to mid?

its actually on Low..

is Mid best ?
