Just bought an 3000 and traded my 2000xl. well my 3000 came with floppy in it so i installed a zip inside of it and i got an external scsi zip as well connected up. my problem is that i cant seem to recognize either the internal or external zip drives. i was reading i might have to format the disk but i cant even do that if it doesnt recognize it. the internal one still promps me and asks for floppy drive. and says error code ff48 : no scsi device was found". I know im not the only one to probably go through this so really any advice or help i would really appreciate. thanks everyone.

Make sure you read the manual -- there is very useful info in there on how to setup the SCSI.

When you go to format the SCSI it should ask you what the device ID is. Make sure that number matches the ID on the back of the drive. Termination on the drive needs to be on.

Does your internal setup look like: http://www.mpc3000.com/zip_install.htm

If it's not seeing the drive, the SCSI fuse inside the 3k may be blown and will need to be replaced.

Good luck!
