Ha yes, i looked last night and only saw the IN. I had assumed it was like my MPC2000 with both the in and out.

Does anyone notice a major difference when sampling with the digital input versus the analog inputs? Just curious. I have an S3000 with the digital card installed and i have always used the digital input for sampling.

I noticed a difference last night when I was sampling a sub kick from pro tools. I was going analog and noticed it didn't sound as full. Kinda took some of the sub tone from the sustain and added slight static effect on the attack. I wasn't clipping or anything. I then sampled digital and it sounded clean. Hopefully it's not an issue with my machine but I don't notice anything bad with other samples. I kind of like the color the D/A converters give, but in this case, digital was the best way to go. Now I take it on a case by case basis.

If I want that MPC sound coloring my sample, I go analog. If I want the sample to sound exactly how I have it in pro tools, I go digital.

Yeah i think i might do some experimenting sampling with the analog inputs. I guess i always assumed sampling digitally and playing the samples in the 3000 (thus utilizing the d/a converters) was good enough. Sampling with the analog inputs would take use of the a/d converters. I guess sampling with the analog inputs is like double dipping a/d then d/a conversion!!! I already treat my drums prior to sampling into the 3000 by running them through different plugins to get them sounding the way i want, but i will see how this goes.
