Today I found to Iomega Zip Drives A 100 and a 250 that I thought I might use with my mpc3k. Thing is there are no power supplies. I went to radioshlack and they didn't have any 5v adapters. I'm assuming I'll fry the thing if I use a 7v.

Any lines on brick n morter spots that carry them or alternatives? For all I know these things dont even work but for $5 a piece, I was willing to gamble.

I know that an external zip 100 takes a 5v 1000ma, but I don't know the polarity (also might not need 1000ma, but can't say for sure).

Same specs on my external 250 (5v, 1A), but I know for sure the center is positive, outside is negative.

Radioshack sells a multivoltage adapter, but I think it is only selectable between 4.5 and 6V.

You could just try to use the 7v, but even if it worked it might be unreliable and I wouldn't want to take a chance with saving my files. Maybe if you find a computer salvage store or thrift store they might have a box of power adapters that you could look through for one that matched the specs. Once you have one that matches, if the end didn't fit, then you could get a new one from radioshack and solder it on. I've done this type of thing a few times.
