mpc3000 floppy drive/scsi problem

I got a faulty 3000 off ebay recently, every time I went to save/load from the floppy drive it would say there is no floppy in the drive (error code: FF80). I presumed the drive was faulty so got a new one from mpcstuff. I installed the new one this morning and the same error is still coming up? The light on the new drive in constantly on aswell

The other problem is it can't find the SCSI zip drive either, I've tried 3 different zip drives and still nothing. Anyone know what the problem is?

you got a blown SCSI fuse most likely, it's soldered in...if you do a search you'll see what one looks like, and also a link to a mouser part number...just a simple take out and solder in job, but use a small iron with not much heat...

I am having the same issue with my mpc3000. Which I just bought. Mine reads the scusi though. Anyone have any suggestions on what we can do to make the floppy work? Should we just buy a new floppy? If so, I see the ones that say they work at mpc3000.com? the Teac FD-235f has anyone on the board used these before. I opened up the box, check the board nothing seemed wrongs. Also took out the floppy and reconnected it, seems like nothing is wrong. Any suggestions?

no worries, i went through some old post on here and I found out that I had the connection in wrong on the ribbion cable. I am back in business! thanks mpc forums!
