congrats on the 60 yo! shit is too fun...
i felt compelled for some reason to voice my own opinions on maschine because i spent like four hours on it yesterday...
there is nothing... nothing at all that the maschine does that is not way easier on my 1000 with jj os2
and... i dont need a 1500 dollar laptop and pricey soundcard...
with jj os2 i have my instrument programs which are all filled up with my favorite sounds off the virus and the voyager that i made using that sweet program autosample...
furthermore... that mpc 60 setting and that sp1200 setting are laughable... the majority of the sounds are super weak.
the only thing that is cool is the little light up blue screen but why do you need that if you have a monitor right in front of you...
waaaayyy too much money for what it is... go get a padkontrol or mpd 32 and live if you want to make software beats... use a bit crusher if you want to emulate old shit.. or better yet... go sample through old shit...
maschine is really only dope if you feel the need to see your pads light up...
an mpc is way cheaper overall because it is stand alone and it doesnt require emulators because it is the real thing...
i personally got a 60 a 2500 and a 1000 for the go and have owned a 3000 and a 500...
there is nothing better than an mpc especially with the new jj...
there is nothing more fun to make beats on than the 60...
or an sp i guess...
but... those classics dont cut it really in terms of workflow and speed...
so i also use logic and live and protools... for sequencing and tracking ect....
the moral is... the real thing is always cooler... and maschine is just a huge wannabe
way to go on your 60... never sell it.. replace the backlight
