S950 + MPC 60

The 2 means that it is double-sided. They work the same as a HD floppy.

If you purchased this S950 used, it may not be the original drive inside. So it could be possible that the floppy drive inside might have been replaced with a DD drive. What is the part number and manufacturer of the drive inside your S950.

In the case you have a HD drive, it may be possible that the sensor that detects the density of the floppy is bad. You could have damaged it when you were cleaning it or it could have gone bad with age.

Or , your 2HD floppy discs are bad and unusable.
