You need to specify the event you want to change by enabling it in the EVENT field of the Sequencer Input Filter section. Pass Event needs to be set to YES.
If you start getting delayed notes or stuttering, you can try changing the Minimum Change field to avoid recording every message from your synth. It batters the MPC's sequencer.
