[HELP] SCSI Zip Drive dead or...?

got an external SCSI 250Mb Zip drive off eBay
for my Mpc3000le
it worked perfectly for a week ,
than yesterday it just dindn't power up .....

guess the power supply is dead ...or?

I've got quite a shaky old scool electrical
connections in the appartment with no ground wires
and frequent power irregular dropouts...

could that have killed my Zip Drive power supply ?

what do u guys think?

I've just found a problem --- dead power supply
so I've cut the wire and soldered it to
an old power supply from the HTC portable
phone that I had laying around
5v 1.0A
and it worked
