Finally copped a 3k LE. Question.

I just won a bid on an almost mint 3k LE! I have been waiting for 5 years. Had a 2kxl to get me by. It was ok, but I have always thought of the 3k sound to be what I am going for. Drums just sounds amazing, deep kicks and non abrasive hats and snares.

Well, I have a 2kxl ZIP drive. Would it plug and play with the 3k LE?

You'll need a different SCSI cable - DB25 instead of HD50 - and you'll need a different set of zip disks because the 3000 uses a different file format than the XL, but otherwise, yes it will work fine with the MPC3000.

Sorry I meant an internal 2kxl zip drive into a 3k LE.

Now that you mentioned SCSI cable,
I have an s2800i connected to my pci adaptec 2904. Is this the same scsi cable that can work with the 3000?

Assuming that the internal Zip drive in your MPC2000XL is an ATAPI drive, then no, you cannot use it with your MPC3000. Do you access the Zip drive by selecting ATAPI or do you access it by selecting a SCSI ID number?

If the drive is a SCSI drive (or if you bought a SCSI drive), you will not be able to install it inside the MPC3000 without one of our KIT-MPC3000 installation kits. This is because there is no internal SCSI connector inside the MPC3000 and our kit adds one.
