The manual to the rescue!
Seriously, soft start is the beginning, soft end is the end, you go to the bottom right and scroll until you get delete before soft start, hit do it, and then scroll to delete after soft end and hit do it to chop the excess bits from memory.
I usually look at the 00.000.00 as seconds, the last section being the smallest incriments, just listen to the sample and divide the number by 2 and equate that with the middle of the sample, then listen back to it.
Oh yeah, and read the manual's section on editing samples.
