Got an MP 3k off ebay recently and Ive been getting real bad white noise coming from the mainouts/headphone jack. Individual outs are fine. I popped it open and it looks like i have some wiring that connects to the main volume pot that is not connected (notice where ive circled) Im not sure where these go, but im guessing that a repair shop could get them back to where they need to be. Anyone pretty certain this is my issue? do both of these wires need re-attaching? any feedback is appreciated. thanks

A crappy repair job. Looks like someone cut your volume PCB is half. Put the section with the RECORD back in and put a non-standard in on the main out. Should be four wires connected. If not that means you should not get any sound out of one or both sides, else they shorted them on the AD/AD board. If they shorted them on the AD/DA board it would likely give a good whine. Does the main vol even work?

Looking at the schematics I see that off P103 (that's connector from the AD/DA board) shows:

1. OUTRSEND
2. OUTRETURN
3. AGRND
4. AGND
5. OUTLRTN
6. OUTLSEND

That means that 1+2 should connect to 1/2 of the pot and 5+6 the other. The part is listed as RK16312A0 L25 A103X2 and I am pretty sure that this is the same:
