MPC 3000 pad sensor\velocity question..

So I need to pound my mpc 3000s pads in order to hit full velocity when full level is off. Would getting new pad sensors help at all or does the 3000 just not respond as well as other mpcs.. my 2500 used to be very easy to hit full velocity with full level off, but u were also able to set pad sensitivity which isn't available in the 3000. So lemme know what u think

Its hard to say, chances are on a 3000 with its age if the sensor's haven't been changed ever in its life and it is well used that is going to make it less sensitive! I thought there was a way to see how the pads responsiveness was in a % but maybe thats a myth! Anyway I never got used to setting a pads sensitivity and have always used either a 3000, 2000/xl or 1000 so maybe its just you are used to having that threshold set low. Sorry its not much help but maybe someone else will chime in on a way to test how degraded a sensor sheet is!

when i got my 60 it was very difficult to get full velocity hits - a sledgehammer would of helped though.

i got new pad sensors and the pads were loads better.

Thank you sir, much appreciated. I just ordered some new sensors and some of those new fat pads from MPCstuff so we'll see how much better it is soon..

Hey so I just replaced the pad sensors on my 3000 and I also installed the thick fat pads and it really made my pads MUCH more responsive!! I can EASILY reach full velocity with full level off. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!! If you need to pound your pads I would definitely recommend replacing the pad sensors!!

Do you think it was the 'fat' pads (and the pad corks) that made the difference or changing the pad sensors. I had a 60 which was perfectly responsive but I hesitated in swapping around the sensors to my 3000 because I thought it'd be tricky. If it's really the sensors, rather than the difference in casing that's a big shame as I'd rather have swapped those that I know were great than fork out for new ones which I can't try.

It was definitely the pad sensors.. I had a set of regular pads on there with the corx and it really didnt help to much.. it just started to work good when I changed the pad sensors...

Good info! Glad you got this sorted out, chances are on these units have never had the sensor sheet replaced so if someone is having to smash there MPC its probably that time!

So do you prefer the Fat Pad's over the regular pads regardless of corkz or not?

I suggested that MPC Stuff make those pads almost 2 years ago and they said "we will consider it" and what do you know they made them! SMH I should have made them myself and kept my mouth shut! Anyway from the pictures the fat pads are still not as thick as the LinnDrum Pad's that Forat had special made for his F9000 but still look like they would be nice to try!

I bought the Purple Glow in the dark pads but after seeing them next to my 3000LE I decided I liked the stock grey color and would rather get the Fat pads, unfortunately its been more than the time they allow returns....so If anyone has the Fat Pads that doesn't like them I would trade you the new still sealed in the package Purple Glowies for a set!

This is good to know but also a bit annoying as, like I said before, the responsiveness in my 60 was perfect and I probably could of tried to switch those around.

Saying that, it's probably not the easiest thing to do to switch around pad sensors, as I believe they stick on so reusing may have been tricky.

yeah i got em from mpcstuff.. I think that's the only place you can get them...
