Hi Y'all

Just signed up and keen to get up to speed on what is thee MPC to get, and how much I should look to spend on one.

I've decided I want an MPC from using a friends, I think its the 2000XL - the blue and red one.

Mainly I noticed that the beat was just so much more substantial, authentic and tight. And of course, sometimes its just a vibe - using the real thing can be inspirational on its own, which is why I'm willing to forego all the masses of other editing features and filters, for an honest to God, fat, funky, true, simple to use beat machine. I think I might actually really want the 12bit version, to be a complete purist, but I'm not sure...will I regret not holding out for a bit more memory or and MPC3000?

Any advice on which one a guy like me should use?

My local secondhand store is selling an MPC 60 for £350 - what do you think of this price, should I hold out for a different model.

Anyway, this will be a place I intend to visit often if I go out tomorrow and buy this thing.

peace, upwardly vibes :D

Just wanted to add:

Been reading through alot of posts here and I can't help noticing that S950s are mentioned a great deal.

Is this a classic hip hop hook up of some kind? Why not newer Akais?

the s950 is old school 12bit golden era shizz... with fat filters. The blue and red mpc is the 1000.
