opposite of new, getting old actually i totally forgot about that program, but i remember using it heavily a decade ago with my 2000XL, i'm on mac though now but this would almost justify buying a crappy old pc just to run it, of course this would defeat the 60 converters but would it allow to import stereo samples? if so that would be the bomb!!

i would normally agree with you, but the deal i got on this 60 made it impossible for me to pass and i needed to catch a flight in the next hour so i couldn't fully check everything. obviously i tested the pads and the buttons and will pop the hood as soon as i return. the SCSI isn't actually that essential to me, especially if the ram isn't maxed out and everything holds on a single floppy (like the SP)

You can run MPCEditor on a Mac using WineBottler App. It can be a little buggy but I got it running on Snow Leopard.

awesome any clue about importing stereo files on the 60? i know 3.1 supports it

STEREO SAMPLING -- Version 3.10 won't put a stereo sampling input on the back of your MPC60, but it does provide a method of creating stereo samples. Simply sample the left and right sides of a stereo sound separately as mono sounds, then a new screen in the software automatically re-syncs and combines them to form the stereo sound.

READS ALL MPC3000 FILES, INCLUDING STEREO SOUNDS -- Reads all MPC3000 files, including mono or stereo sounds (saved to MPC60 floppies) and directly reads MPC3000 hard disks (MPC-SCSI required). Reads all MPC60 files.

I never used mpceditor to import sounds into the 60, but i'm assuming it should be no problem to do what you are asking.
