Hello!
This is my first post so I want to introduce myself to the forum. I was planning to do it and post a photo of my 3000 into "Post your 3000/60" photo topic however I'm still working on my machine so will post some pics once I'm done.
I've been a casual reader, or to say "student" of this forum since 2006. Decided to register a month or so ago with hope not only taking but also giving a knowledge if possible. Really a huge amount of knowledge floating around and BIG thanks to all of you for every valued contribution.
Born in Slovakia (in those times named Czechoslovakia), currently living in Czech republic. Had a couple of MPCs i the past. The first one 2000XL, then 1000, later laid down my hands on 60. Then went through 2500 until I finally got a chance (and cash) to buy a machine of my dreams - a 3000. From my experience - 60 & 3000 are my all time favorites, no doubt about it. I don't need to tell you why, I think all of us in this corner know why..
Bought a 3000 3 months ago from Germany. Almost virgin clean condition, came installed with VGA board and SMTPE chip as well. Since then, I upgraded it with 32MB of RAM, since it had only 16MB. Replaced floppy drive with an internal CF card reader. Later on I was a lucky man and had a chance to hunt down a pair of Vailixi chips. I think I can say fully maxed 3000 right there.
I still have my 3000 open as I am currently working on a solution where internal drive and external port can be accessible in the same time. Hope to finish this mod soon and if working will share with you if interested.
