I have the facts straight on upgrading a 2000 for internal SCSI, I need it pretty bad but Id hate to keep pouring money into this machine when I could be saving for a 3k. If I had my 2k set up with CF drive & IDE /SCSI converter method for internal SCSI, is there any reason I couldn't just take it out later to use in a 3000?

Yes. You would need to get a CF drive and SCSI bridge that is compatible with both machines. Some SCSI bridge/CF reader combinations that work in the 2000 don't work in the 3000.
