Windows 7 , snd files to mpc 60

Hello All,
I am a recent owner of the mpc 60 II with 3.10 OS. I have dug thru the bible and a few of the topics. Need a bit of help putting the pieces together.

What I have now:

3.5 DD Floppy disks, usb floppy drive, wav2snd, free version of mpc editor. I seem to be stuck as to how to exactly save snd files to floppy on my pc to use on the 60


What route do I take to transfer files from my PC for use in the MPC 60 (formatting,creating program, etc)

oh.. you just run an audio cable from the PC to the record input on the mpc60.... no transferring needed. The thing is, the 60 is a sampler... it samples.


Because other than that, if you actually for some reason require getting sounds from the pc to the 60 in the way you describe with transferring via floppy... it will be tough. I am not sure if you can do it with the gear you have.

The real question is why go with the 60 if you aren't going to sample into it?
If you want to create or edit samples on the computer then build programs to use in a MPC then you should go with one of the computer friendly MPCs.

The whole purpose of things loke the SP, 3k 60 etc is the totallity of how they work not just a single element.

So basically you should use the 60 for what it's good for or change to a MPC that likes working with a computer.

You can still fight with it a go the route you are looking at but don't expect great returns.

Kinda, but what I am really saying is quality vs quantity.
I would only suggesting sampling from the PC if you have a highend interface.

I just feel creating a new kit person works best.
You usually get it right because you create drums that fit since that's where your head is at.
With a library you either spend a lot of time looking or find something to try and make work.

If you have a XP computer and the paid version of MPCEditor working with the 60 v3 isn't to bad with a SCSI drive for getting things into the 60.
Not so sure what Mike actually killed for the free version.

Some of the important stuff ,like being able to format disks so they can be read by both PC and MPC, was removed.
