The ASR10 is way more featured as a "sampler" than the an MPC60/MPC300/MPC2000/MPC2000XL.
An ASR10 has a host of sample editing and processing functions that an MPC ( and a lot of other samplers ) can't touch.
The MPC sampler is good for one shots and loops.
An MPC is king where sequencing is concerned.
Is working with an MPC3000 -v- MPC2000/MPC2000XL together with an ASR10 better/worse in the case of one MPC or another
An MPC60/MPC3000 -v- MPC2000/MPC2000XL operate in quite different ways.
Having said that; result of what you can achieve with either of them shouldn't be too different if you know what you're doing.
Learn your gear more perhaps ?
Can you buy an MPC3000 new ?
Some stores may have some old/recpacked demo stock.
What is the going rate ?
An EBAY search for completed auctions of MPC3000 machines would be a good place to start.
Good luck.
Rohan.
