hey I have a little problem here,

my idea was to convert some .wav to .snd, putting them back to my SD card, put the sd card onto my mpc60 MKII...
I have no problem loading .snd in my mpc60, but they are noisey, like, white noise.

I used wavsnd.exe to convert .wav to .snd
I used Hxcfloppyemulator.exe to add files (.snd) to my .hfe
Evrything works perfectly.

It's quite simple but something is wrong with conversion I guess,

need help :(

thanks a lot,

Jean-Pierre

ps : I use a mpc 60 MKII, with a hxc floppy emulator rev c, OS 3.10

Are you using 44.1kHz/16bit WAV source files?

Will check tomorrow...does it matter?

Are you sure you are copying over SND files produced by WAVSND.EXE, not SND files generated by other computer applications that are incompatible?

Yes, I'm sure about that.

Did several tests, using WASND.EXE Or mpceditor.exe, same problem.

Will do it some more tests tomorrow,

thank you Simon,

Jean-Pierre

ps i just read " I use the MPC Editor, which is invaluable to me, because it saves so much time. You must have windows 98 or lower for this program to work correctly. "

....maybe that's the pb. I use Win7! Will check it tomorrow...

So I tried converting my 24 bits wav to 16 bits before converting to .snd....it's much better, but still have too much deterioration.

Same method, used mpceditor to create .pgrm and .snd...and used HxCFloppyEmulator to add files to my .hfe...

Am I the only one having issues with a mpc 60 MK2?

If can test my files...would be awesome ;

mpceditor.rar :

(with .pgrm and 2 .snd)
and
Disk_9.hfe

thankssssss!

Your wav files must be in 16-bit format before you use WAVSND to convert them to snd files.

As stated on the WAVSND website "This application converts 16-bit PCM wave files to MPC3000 format. The MPC60 with 3.x OS and the MPC2000 can read these SND files. ".

16 bit.

Also if you translate any wav files that are not 44100 then I imagine that you will encounter slower or faster samples at the wrong pitch after conversion.

Translate all your wav's to 16-bit, 44100kHz before converting to SND's.
Also would be a good idea to convert to mono first by taking either the left or right-hand side of the sample.
