I was one of the last suckers who paid for Vailixi, heard from Rohand initially, and then lost the full amount when he disappeared.

Now that it is a couple of years later, does anyone know what the hell happened with this thieving assh0le? I have talked to a couple of Aussies who knew him and subsequently saw him around at events, so I know he didn't go to jail, as some suggested at the time, but no one seems to know what he is currently up to.

Any of you know? I wound up selling my MPC3000 and buying one with Vailixi already on it. I appreciate the guy's programming skills, but he straight buttf*cked a number of us who were unfortunate enough to be his last customers. I ate ramen for 3 months, to make up the cash.

I totally understand your anger, if you got ripped off by him, and am not trying to diminish that at all, but there doesn't really seem to be many who actually didn't get their money back through PayPal or other means, only one, or maybe two, from what I have seen.

Would be interesting to know what the story behind it actually is. :hmmm:

I think that some have hinted that they know what went on, but for some reason would not elaborate on it.

Anyone who paid by Paypal and didn't make a claim only has themselves to blame.

I suspect Rohan threw the towel in around the same time people started bootlegging his chips.

As evidenced on this forum? I think that was happening already before that. I seem to recall him mentioning it in an email.

+1

I would consider the Vailixi OS to be abandonware at this point, as with vimana. Difference being the people with vimana do not want anyone else to have it. But privately the vimana is doing the rounds. Vailixi is all over the place, most people who wanted it, now have it.

Apparently spending 20 euros on bootlegged OS makes an MPC3000 worth 200 more. Go figure.

I don't know, but how difficult is it for someone in Australia to find out more information? Rohan is/was quite well known among the muso community. The whole cover up just stinks. Even so I think those who got butt **** need to get over it now and move on.

Caveat emptor, as always.

Great advice, except that the MPC Forums users themselves were reassuring those of us with skin in the game that Rohan was the most solid dude ever and was just temporarily delayed. By the time I realized he was really and truly keeping the cash, it was too late to make a PayPal claim.

Rohan throwing in the towel is not the same thing as keeping buyers' money AND keeping his website up, taking orders, knowing that he wasn't going to deliver. The final buyers were the very folks who were the good guys, if indeed there was any real bootlegging going on.
