Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

What's good comrades, DJ 5DucK reportin' in.

I recently bought a 2000XL and didn't want to use two Zip drives,

So I tried this.

Image

Bottom line first, it works.

However,

1. MPC2000XL will recognize/read SCSI 5 with both (3000 & 2000XL) data cables connected.

Image

2. Seems like 3000 will not recognize/read SCSI 5 unless I remove 2000XL's data cable.

Image

I really don't want to remove the cable every time I boot up 3000.

Has any body tried this yet? Am I doin' somethin' wrong?

Any suggestions/Answers/Options?

SCSI devices were never connected to more than one computer/machine, your setup looks very non-standard to me. If you're looking for SCSI trouble, go ahead, your mileage may vary. Depending on unlucky circumstances, this may well blow up your SCSI fuses on either machine …
