Hey guy's hope you can help !
I’m new here !

I’ve got a midi keyboard with 4 channels on it I can set individual mid out in each channel.

What’s the correct way to setup the MPC tracks so I can record ‘midi’ tracks on 4 channels but stop it triggering the pads.

Eg I have a synth hooked up to midi channel 11 - I just want to play record it but my keys seem to trigger the programs sounds too but only on their assigned ‘midi notes’.

I’ve got all my ‘drum ‘ tracks set to channel off but it’s still picking it up and my ‘midi’ track with channel 11A

Thank you !

Normally you would only use 1 MIDI channel on the keyboard. The MPC routes all incoming notes, etc to what ever port and channel you have selected in the mpc "Chn" field. To play different synths you change tracks in the MPC and don't change channel on the keyboard.
To stop the program sounds playing assign them to MIDI notes that are not being used for your synths.
