I've been using it since it was called Cool Edit 96.
I'm still using it to edit my samples prior to convert them into .snd and load them into my MPC3000, and feel there is no better tool to do the job.
Just ask if there is anything you need to know about it.

I use it to make mp3's from wavs, bt I only convert to snd using the mpc editor.

what about using cool edit to sequence or multitrack is it a decent program to get started with? or do i need something like cubase se? i would like to be able to do everything on my mpc60 and emax1 and then use cool edit to visually slice and chop up my samples and then throw them back into the mpc60, and then record back into the computer?

yeah i just recently got my emax se no hd though oh well. i probably dont need cubase se then, since cool edit does what im looking for also i nocticed that cool edit is mme not asio should i be concerned since my soundcard (m-audio usb omni studio) is asio? will i have any problems? is there a solution?
