suggestions

yo! whats up guys, i got a bone stock mpc 60. the upgrades are whats goin on soon. obviously first on my list is the os3.10, my questions is, do you guys think the scsi would make more sense to get before the extra ram?

i am kinda tight on budget right now. not even kinda... definetly TIGHT on a budget. this kids broke as shit. i need the os update but not sure if to get extra ram first or the scsi when i get the OS3.10. I know the scsi would make life easier... but a few extra seconds with the ram would be pretty tight to have plus its cheaper. i dont know, let me know what you think.

and while im posting this questions, let me also ask ... the bass button on the drum pad works sometimes and sometimes doesn't, its fuking annoying the shit outa me, what do i do about this? if anyone has experience in a situation like this, i need help. thanks.

get the OS and the memory first, then get the scsi. the button, do you mean the pad? if so, check the ribbon connector and clean the pads and sensors with compressed air. Don't put liquids on it.

i was thinkin the ram first also. cool man, thanks for the reply. the scsi is mad expensive, kinda crazy. As for cleaning the pads with compressed air, can I do that from the top or should I dissconnect the pad board from under the top piece and do it that way?

If you feel comfortable doing it, unscrew it from the panel and clean it, be careful with the connectors, you may have to hold the board from underneath when you push it in and don't force it.

Also, unplug it before you open it, and touch the Transformer (big metal thing) before touching the other parts, also, no socks on carpet when you do it.

If they are really philthy, you could try a cloth with a little bit of alcohol on the pads, might help. you can pull out the rubber pads and clean them with water in the sink (make sure it is really dry before putting it back), and put it back upsde down, in case it is a worn pad that causes the problem.
