SCSI Problems - Couldn't find the answer in manual

Let's slow down a bit.
After you boot the MPC, if you go to DISK does F9 show up?
If you see F9 your SCSI should be ok.
It shows up if the SCSI saw anything on the SCSI buss when it booted up.
If you have to do the select disk function then the MPC didn't find anything on the buss.
When you boot the 60 or use F9 from inside of DISK (with a ZIP in the drive) does the light on thre drive toggle and the ZIP disk spin?
Don't worry about the MPCeditor stuff, that's the stuff you have to do to use the ZIP disk with the editor not the 60.

Just seems like you have a drive problem (or cable).

Thanks.....I'll have to check for the F9 deal. When I power up the MPC, this light above the Disk button flickers off and on intermittently(sp?).

I meant the disk light on the ZIP drive?
Just want to be sure we are talking about the same light.

Both lights on the Zip light up.

did you try and hit Format at this point?

Yeah......Still getting that same error message though.

Just tried again...LOL....

Powered up the Zip drive first.....Inserted disk....Yellow light on Zip drive came on......

Powered up the 60.....Still didn't recognize the drive upon powering it up......Went to make the SCSI device active again and got the same error message.

OK, when you went into thre DISK screen on the MPC was F9 showing or did you have to use F8 and then choose a disk?

Let's see....

This is how I've been doing it: Power up, hit Disk, press 8, and then 4. Whenever I do that, I get the error message about the MPC not recognizing the SCSI device.

Same thing when I hit Disk button, press 8, and number 3....

I give up.

Damn, I'm still impressed with your endurance Ntalec..

i think i'm just going to get a new drive/cable.
