mpc 3000 trackmute

I hear it doesnt have a trackmute screen, but does it have any track mute capabilities at all?

Yes, you can mute individual tracks one-by-one.

You can scroll thru tracks in the main screen, but only sequential, cant jump around.

Yes you can jump around, it's called the number pad, you can jump to any track in seconds. Of course, the number pad is a little harder to see on the 3000 so it may not help as much.

Oh, I always used the track -,+ soft buttons. Thanks for the tip. I use the number pad extensively, so no probleng there.

What always bothered me was you cant mute more than one track at a time in real time. Punching in the track number gets the job done quicker, but still have to mute one by one.

Yeah, for that you need song mode. or you just set up patterns with the multiple mutes and change patterns, it depends how you set up your tracks. But yeah then it's no longer realtime. I do love me some song mode tho!!

Right, I usually get it done in song mode. Copy the sequence a few times then mute different parts, but i was thinking in terms of live performances or throwing in changeups on the fly.

It;s a little harder then, but I do live track muting one by one at the studio a lot and it isn;t so bad. For live performance you'd want to have a track with both elements you want to mute at the same time available as well as individual, so you can arm and disarm both or either at once. You do have 99 tracks, you can use them in many different ways.
