i know this info is available but i am still having a hard time undertanding how to setup my machines:
1) 60ii, OS 3.10, max memory
2) s950, stock
3) microkorg
4) bearhinger eurorack MX 1604A mixer
how do i connect all this stuff to:
1) sample on the s950
2) program/sequence on the 60
3) make basslines with the korg
4) run through mixer
5) record to computer
here's what i think i need to do:
1) record in (line) on s950 from turntable
2) MIDI out from s950 to MIDI in 1 on 60
**where does the microkorg MIDI get connected to? is MIDI THRU on the s950 used?**
after hooking up s950, 60 and microkorg, how should i connect those three machines to the mixer? does each machine have to have its 'outs' going to the mixer?
s950-- does 'mix out' go to the 60 or to the mixer?
60-- does 'stereo out' go to the mixer channel 1 for example?
--does anyone use the ECHO OUT function?
microkorg-- does 'stereo out' go to the mixer?
from the mixer does my main output go to my monitors (floor speakers) and then if i wanna record i can simply make the output plug directly into my soundcard instead?
will my mixer power my floor speakers with the 'phantom power' function? is that like a small amp or something? i don't have a stereo receiver so right now i'm playing my 60 directly into my soundcard and cpu speakers (decent altec lansing's w/ a sub).
ANY help is MUCH appreciated. thank you in advance.

*sample to S950 midi through MPC 60
*midi microkorg with Midi in and out on both machines, one to the other, with the MPC 60
*hook up the 8 outs of the S950 assuming you're using them all to the mixer and likewise with the outs of your microkorg
this is BASICally what you need to do...read your manuals, if you don't have them read them online
buy a home studio recording for dummies book at Barnes & Noble and also a book on Midi made simple....or some shit, if theres anything you want to know, do yourself a favor and read a book about it, educate yourself and you'll feel better about it, plus you can always reference back to the book
