Outkast Gear on Speakerboxx

I know many of you may have seen this, but I just read it. Here is an excerpt of an interview with their engineer:

For samplers and drum machines, Dre used the Akai MPC3000 and an E-mu SP1200, while Big Boi's primary machine was the MPC2000XL. “Although they have every version of every one of them ever made, those were the sequencers and drum machines to start,” Frye says. “Occasionally, there was an odd piece that had some kind of rhythmic pattern in it that we'd lock in, but often a lot of things were triggered via the MPC3000 or 2000XL.”

in MTV Cribs you can see an MPC 2000 in one of their "project" studio - the same room with the dancing pole surely a must for all studios?

in the B.O.B. video, Dre is bangin out on a Sp1200

I remember on one of their videos from ATLiens, they're bangin on a 3k.

Andre 3000 used Nuendo for recording.....
