velocity settings pads

I was wondering if there is a workaround to not slamming too hard on my mpc so that it breaks apart. I can try to hit the pads as hard as I can, but I'll probably kill the mpc instead of reaching max velocity. Very annoying as I want a natural feel in my rythms.
At this moment I always have to turn max velocity on.

that was discussed recently, guys talked about changing velocity sens. settings in the sounds/2 page (middle field)

I don't think the pads were meant to be hit hard, you'd kill them with time! that's why there's a full level function.
I do it this way : since I always record my drums separately, I'll get an idea in my head, and I'll first play the "loud beats" (i.e. : kik on the 1 , snares on 2 and 4...) at full velocity, then I turn it off and play the beats around it (ghost kiks, snares, anything else). This way I rarely need to edit velocities afterward.

I must be a complete idiot. I remember this question being asked a couple of years ago on the old mpc forum. Just completely forgot wat had been said and I couldn't find it with the search.

About the velocity... I saw it within 10 seconds. I'm slammin' on the beast for a couple of years and never saw the Vel % before haha... Damn me!

As pointed out, goto sounds/2 page then play with the velocity mod-volume setting. 50-60 works pretty well. You can reach full level without hitting too hard.

Oh damn... I just set the velocity on the main screen.

I'll see what happens if I press sounds and then 2
