2000xl Negative Lo end

The 60, 3000, and SP 1200 can do things that the 2XL cant. The 2XL can do alot of things that these machines can't. Each machine gives a certain timbre to the music. Is the sound quality different? Yes, in some ways...but it's all about how you freak it...it's all about blending the best of both worlds.

I personally get the best out of my 2XL when i combine it with the S950. Everybody should have their own methods and that's what creates your own individual style and sound. The most notable producers have kept their methods a secret and that's how its always been. In 2006, most of all the tricks and secrets are out of the bag.

If you just wanna get a 60 cuz Primo uses it or a 3000 cuz Dilla uses it, then you are just a toy...7 lbs of gray matter and your ears are the most important tools in your studio. Shout out to all the cats who know that the source of good music comes from a producer's imagination. Bang-related beats come THROUGH a sampler and not FROM a sampler...SUM of yall got that shit twisted.

I used a 2k for ages, and yes the converters and the filter SUCK compared next to the 3k (got mine next to eachother too atm)...

Last time I said the convertors on the XL sucked, folks round here were ready to lynch me. Happy to see I'm not the only audiophile to notice this. The low end is almost non-existant on the XL.

The fact is : a beat is a beat.
I still give beats to artists that I made (or even still make/finish) on the 2kxl.
So to conclude that into a statement: I think the 2k xl is more than capable of delivering a sound that can be turned into a very dope sounding beat.

Without trying to let this burnt out campfire spark up again, I gotta say:
I don't want to spend ages on turning a soso sound into gold. Time is money, kids.
Still, something I cant say often enough to ppl, whatever gear you use:

try push the gain on your input as far as you can

If you experiment with this you'll find out how drums or certain samples can be recorded without audiable distortion making the sound alot fatter than it normally would be.
I guess 60/sp users know whats up.

At the end of the day, its not what machine you use but what you make with it and the only reason I write ish about a "wack sound" on the 2k is not to convince anyone their unit is krap, or to diss the machine. This is just something I really would have wanted to know myself like 5 or 6 years ago when I bought the 2kxl.... I'm solely trying to kick some knowledge

But if someone jumps on you for saying something, be sure your talk didnt come out the wrong way.
