I saw a sample CD that comes in s1000 format. I know that you can convert s1000 sample to the 3000 format,but can the MPC read s1000 compatable CD's??

If the MPC3000 is fitted with OS 3.11 or higher it will be capable of reading S1000/S3000 series sample CD's.
Read the MPC3000 manual where this is discussed in detail.
