Guys,

I have a friend who I'm sending some zips to. I have a 2000xl with an external zip. He has a 3000 with an external zip.

Question: If I format the zip on my 2000xl and drop all of the .snd files on the zip via a usb external zip, will his 3000 be able to read the .snd files?

If not, what's the solution.

Thanks

The MPC3000 will not read an MPC2000 or MPC2000XL formatted ZIP disk.

A MPC2000/MPC2000XL will read an MPC3000 formatted ZIP disk.

No ...

The MPC3000 will not read/load *.SND/*.PGM/*.APS/ files created by an MPC2000/MPC2000XL.

However ...

The MPC2000XL will read/load *.SND/*.PGM/*.APS files created by a MPC3000.

If using a PC with a USB ZIP drive then use the MPC-EDITOR ( www.midicase.com ) which can:

a) create a single 32 megabyte cross platform, safe transfer partition that can be read/write by a MPC2000XL, MPC3000 and WIN/MAC/LINUX computer.

b) can convert between *.PGM and *.SND of MPC2000XL and MPC3000 machines.

Good luck.

Rohan.
