sixty versus 3k/4k and more...

gettin a sixty II, heard they sound as gritty as the 1200, (12 bit sound).
Question, should I get a 4K? I heard the O.S. was real buggy, and rumors that AKAI is abandoning it, make me weary, fearing there won't be any patches or upgrades.
Question 2 can a sixty in any way shape or form read anything off of the 2000 disks?, I don't need the All, or SEQ files as much as I want my samples...
or even at last resort, know of any shareware file conversion programs that will successfully open my 2000 disks?
How far up the chain, will the 3.01 o.s. upgrade get me?

it's cheap.

you can only use it effectively in windows 98 though as I do not know how XP can read MPC formatted disks...and nobody will share this info as yet...

the upgrade will get you just shy of a 3000. Best thing about my 60.

Not as gritty as a 1200, not as pretty as a 2000.

If you overdrive the inputs you get a grittier sound.
