Converting .WAV samples to .SND samples

Which software are saving from? Can you point us to an example WAV file that wavsnd gives problems with (or email one to me, PM for address).

all my saving is pretty much done in cool edit ....... like if I recorded a hat off a record and saved it as hardhat.wav is that what you mean?

WindowsXp typically installs NTFS filesystem unless you tell it to keep the FAT32 filesystem...

NTFS partitioned XP's are not compatible with MPC formatted disks...of vice versa.

try partition magic to go back to FAT32 and everything will work just fine...

Not exactly right. You can have FAT32 XP and still not read MPC formatted disks. That is, unless you are sitting in front of this PC running XP from which I can every partition of an MPC formatted disk and read/write to them.

I apologize for being redundant if this was already mentioned but I do a good old fashioned MIDI dump to and from my CPU for sound editing. I throw my drums into Sound Forge, normalize, eq, or add effects and then i save them in folders. Open it up in "A WAVE studio" and do a MIDI send to the MPC-60 II at 40,000 - 12-bit and it doesn't take long at all to transfer the sounds. Usually 10kb = 1 second. So figure hats are 140kb take bout 14 seconds. It's a great feature!

Sure do. I've got a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum card. The only thing that sucks is I just found out the new 3.11 OS has omitted the SDS MIDI DUMP option from the new upgrades. They said it was underused. C'mon now!!! Give it back!!!!!!!

Hi, Drumatic. Ive tried the MIDI dump function (MPC60 OS 2.12 and Awave 7+). I can transfer the files from the MPC to Awave but if I want to transfer it back to the MPC60, it transfers but the sample isnt there after transfering.

What could be wrong?

its a pain in the @$$ but you might as well use one of your old computers and install windows 98 and use that to transfers your files. just get a network hub and network your computers. its a waste but there is really no other work around. i am waiting for the mpc editor to have the answer to all of our worries but until then, just get a busted computer to do the transfers. peace

Ive tried that, but it wont work with the old OS. I can transfer the files via MIDI now (Windows XP and Awave) without any problems. When you transfer the files from Awave to the MPC60, there cant be any capitals and spaces in the name of the wave file.
