60 Floppy Backup

I've only had my 60 for a few months and it's completely taken over my whole production. I'm new to the whole world of SCSI as I've only worked with the supplied disk drive and memory of my other samplers as well as my 60. My question is, is their a way to back up the .snd files from my floppies on my computer some how without adding the SCSI option? I know their's issues with formatting, being that the 60 formats a floppy different than a pc or mac.

This has been covered already in a few different ways so I'll just break down how I do it. I got a dirt cheap laptop from some computer recyclers running Windows 98 (NT, 2000, XP and probably Vista won't read the 60 floppy disks). I just create folders then drag and drop, it's cake. The MPC60 will even read the DOS formatted floppy disks.

Awave (http://www.fmjsoft.com/awframe.html) can take you a step further and convert the 12 bit snds to wavs or wavs to 12 bit snds.

If you don't need that flexibility and don't wanna drop any money on a laptop or a bootable thumb drive then you should try OmniFlop (http://www.shlock.co.uk/Utils/OmniFlop201k.zip) it works under NT, 2000 and XP and allows you to create floppy disk images. These are like snapshots of the entire floppy disk. You won't be able to manipulate individual files but your sounds and programs will be safe.

Good look.... I'm gonna try Omni Flop. It's good to know that my resources can be safe some how. I've made way to many programs / kits, that making a duplicate of every floppy would take to long.
