have had my 3k for 3 days and i love it. is there anyway of stopping longer music samples from playing. they carry on after i stop the sequencer.also sometimes if i place a music sample(not a drum hit) on beat one and hit play/start the sample does'nt trigger till bar two of a two bar sequence. any ways round this? cheers.

On the first, yes, go into the sounds program page, and set the sample you want to shut off to Note Off or whatever it's called. Mono, poly, and note off. THis means that the sample only plays while you have your finger holding the pad.

For your second question, If it is a looped background, are you sure it is on the first beat? sometimes you have it right before beat 1, so when it loops it sounds right, but when you start from the begining it doesn't register until the next cycle or next time the sample was played.

to check exactly where it is, use step edit, and if you move it, remember to move the otherone by the same amount if their relationship is good in the first place.

have been into step edit and the event was missing from beat 1. its sorted now and i'll use the note off feature from now on as well. thanks for your advice, its been a big help. :P

no sweat, but don't use note off unless you have to. No hard and fast rules.

Just a question.. how do you set this on the MPC60? original OS. Can't find it in the manual.

I don't think it's possible. At least someone said it wasn't.

Do your duty and upgrade brother!

F*k.. yeah, if that's not possible with the original OS then I'll have no choice. Might as well put in the scsi and extra memory at the same time then. :(

Good man.

Feel free to post questions here, the 60 forum doesn't get much traffic, and rarely any stupid oners because it is easy to figure out.
